Alpenglow Lounge delights in the Idyllwild environment it inhabits: wines and beers from independent wine makers and brewers that embody the unfettered spirit of this small mountain town. We seek delicious, low-intervention, and approachable selections from our California backyard as well as from…really anywhere wine grapes grow and beer hops hop! We also hand-select delightful and unexpected nonalcoholic options to ensure everyone can relax and have a good time at The Glow.
We invite you to escape the digital maelstrom, lean back in a cozy banquette, borrow a book, enjoy the record spinning on the turntable, and settle into a little analog time in an analog town. And, of course, try to catch the alpenglow.
A little about us…
Daniel is a hospitality veteran with experience in hotels, restaurants, events and management. You can still find Daniel at his permanent post at Cafe Aroma in Idyllwild, CA where he has developed a seasonal cocktail program with a relaxed and welcoming bar vibe. NOW you can also find him serving up carefully curated natural and traditional wines, craft beers, and a fun array of N/A faves as the co-owner of Alpenglow Lounge. Daniel is a true wanderer and has lived in bustling cities to sleepy hamlets from coast to coast.
Mo has bartended off and on since the 90s, but her day job is as the Executive Director of an educational nonprofit organization. In her tandem gig as co-owner of The Glow, she is excited to lean into her love of wine. Though she admits to having a particular palate for mid- and light-bodied old world reds, Mo will try anything once (or thrice) and is eager to share her down-to-earth love of all the wines from all the places.
